Facilitating and Leading Primary Care Respiratory Research
The Primary Care Respiratory Society UK leads primary care respiratory research, raising the profile, facilitating collaboration and supporting pragmatic and 'real life' research through:
- Identification of primary care research needs across the breadth of respiratory disease treated in primary care including asthma, COPD, bronchiectasis and other chronic lung conditions, respiratory infections (including influenza), allergy and rhinitis, smoking cessation
- Planning, designing, reviewing and securing funding for pragmatic, 'real life' research of relevance to primary care in line with the needs identified
- Facilitating research into the best means of organising respiratory care in primary care
- Building the respiratory primary care research capability, for example through the continued development of the Primary Care Respiratory Society UK research network and collaboration with other primary care research networks
The Primary Care Respiratory Society UK also supports new and inexperienced researchers in primary care with training courses and guidance from our editorial board with the submission of original research to our journal, PCRJ.
