Patrick White Patrick White is a Senior Lecturer in General Practice and Primary Care in the Division of Health and Social Care Research at King’s College London and a general practitioner at Crown Dale Medical Centre in South London. He graduated from University College, Dublin in 1976, and undertook his general practice training in Edinburgh and West Lothian in Scotland between 1977 and 1981. He joined Crown Dale Medical Centre in 1981 where he has been in partnership ever since. He began his academic training in 1981 as a Research Fellow at St George’s Hospital Medical School in south London, subsequently becoming a lecturer at King’s College School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1987 and later senior lecturer. His research interest is in the management of respiratory disease in primary care, particularly COPD, and current research includes a study of intractable breathlessness in people with advanced COPD, the provision of pulmonary rehabilitation for COPD in primary care, a system wide approach to the management of COPD, and the role socioeconomic deprivation and illness perception in the impact of COPD and in access to services of patients with the disease . He has been a Trustee of the Primary Care Respiratory Society UK (formerly GPIAG) since 2007. |
