Supporting the development of primary care healthcare professionals

As a primary care health professional, the Primary Care Respiratory Society UK provides you with regular updates on primary care respiratory issues and offers you a forum for sharing ideas, as well as the opportunity to collaborate in research and to promote involvement in respiratory care in the community. Many of our members are actively involved in the development of guidelines and protocols and sit on advisory panels concerned with the treatment of respiratory disease both nationally and locally.

The Primary Care Respiratory Society UK has a series of programmes specifically designed to support the needs of nurses working in primary care respiratory medicine including a respiratory skills framework, a series of protocols and support for local groups.

The Primary Care Respiratory Society UK plays a key role in supporting GPs and Practitioners with a Special Interest (G/PwSI) in respiratory medicine through the development of standards and by offering networking facilities and ongoing training and development opportunities. The Primary Care Respiratory Society UK is also working to develop a broader group of respiratory leaders able to influence and develop respiratory care in Primary Care Organisations across the UK and is committed to supporting individual members in this respect.

The Primary Care Respiratory Society UK website  includes regular features and updates on the activities of the group and a members-only section, allowing members to freely download Primary Care Respiratory Society UK publications, and other educational programmes and to participate in specific discussion forums of their choice.
