2.8 million people remain unaware they have the disease. COPD is the 5th biggest killer disease in the UK.1 The estimated average national prevalence from the Quality Outcome Framework Data is 1.5% however there is considerable variation around the UK between SHAs (0.9-2.3%) and between PCTs (0.7 – 2.9%).
