GPwSI/PwSIThe Primary Care Respiratory Society UK has led the way in collaborative efforts with the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) and the Department of Health (DH) to develop the respiratory framework for GPwSIs and is continuing to act as vanguard in the development of a core curriculum, appraisal and mentoring and accreditation policy for respiratory GPwSIs. Resources The Primary Care Respiratory Society UK has produced a range of resources available to members of the Primary Care Respiratory Society UK who are, or wish to become, GPwSIs/PwSIs. Additionally, the Primary Care Respiratory Society UK has produced a resource pack for individuals and primary care organisations who wish to develop respiratory GPwSI services. The short booklet, and the resources included on the accompanying CD, can help PCOs develop GPwSIs and other specialist professionals in many clinical areas, not only the important area of respiratory service development. The resource pack booklet is available online as a complimentary resource to members of the Primary Care Respiratory Society UK. Training Courses and Update Meetings From time to time, the Primary Care Respiratory Society UK hosts training programmes for primary care health professionals interested at influencing or delivery services beyond practice level, including GPwSI /PwSI.
