Public health framework for consultation ‘ Healthy lives; healthy people'
Public health is being separated out from the NHS, and will now sit within Local Authorities, not the NHS. It is intended that NHS, public health and social care will have their own outcomes to work towards, but some will be shared, such as preventing ill health and the social determinants of disease. The public health programme is still at consultation stage so is a little behind the NHS outcomes framework.
