The Primary Care Respiratory Society UK has developed a series of is protocols specifically for primary care nurses to utilise in their practice (subject to appropriate approval from the practice/PCT). These protocols are available free of charge to members of the Primary Care Respiratory Society UK to download from the Primary Care Respiratory Society UK website.


Primary Care Respiratory Society UK Patient Group Directions (PGDs)

The Primary Care Respiratory Society UK is developing a series of PGDs designed specifically for primary care nurses to utilise in their practice (subject to appropriate approval from the practice/PCT).   PGDs are available free of charge to members of the Primary Care Respiratory Society UK to download from the website.

The asthma and COPD checklist has been designed to ensure you have covered all aspects of asthma and COPD care in your consultations.  The checklist should be used in conjunction with other Primary Care Respiratory Society UK resources such as the protocols and PGDs for the management of asthma and COPD.

The development of minimum, intermediate and advanced skills set to support practice nurses assess their own skill level in respiratory medicine and secure appropriate training and support to enable them to deliver optimal respiratory care.
