Barbara Preston

Barbara Preston retired in 2006 and since then has been considerably involved in voluntary work. In particular she is secretary of both Breathe Easy Nottingham and her practice PPG. Both have led to involvement in other health related activities such as research, PPI representation for Nottingham Clinical Trials Unit Advisory Group and acting as a patient for medical students. She has had bronchiectasis since childhood and during many decades of care has seen huge advances in treatment. However, nearly two decades of working with a large Breathe Easy group has shown her that there’s great variation between the services patients receive and she is keen to help ensure there is a universal gold standard.
