I have worked with respiratory patients for over 15 years in secondary care, community and primary care settings. My current role is a combined post as Respiratory Advanced Nurse Practitioner for a large group of practices in Bradford, where I see patients with complex respiratory diagnosis and management problems. I love working within a large primary care group where it allows me to influence the care delivered to respiratory patients by other HCP's, so that we can all work together to develop the highest quality care. In the past I have helped to put on COPD Public Health Awareness Days, developed and helped set up a Day Care programme at our local hospice for patients with advanced COPD and chaired a COPD MDT group managing care across primary and secondary care. I have a passion for education and have recently started working for the Primary Care Training Centre on their respiratory programme. My passion for respiratory care is due to its holistic nature, where looking at the person as a whole makes such vast difference to the care we give. This is never more so than when I am considering the impact of mental health on people living with respiratory conditions.
