Jennie Firth

photo of Jennie FirthMost of Jennie's long nursing career is embedded in community care in Leeds. She is passionate about innovative ways to provide high quality and accessible healthcare to vulnerable and marginalised groups of people. She currently works as a Practice Nurse with Bevan Healthcare, providing responsive NHS General Practice services to homeless clients including those in unstable accommodation, refugees or seeking asylum. Her special interest and expertise has been in understanding and developing respiratory healthcare and she became increasingly comfortable offering homeless outreach healthcare where she witnessed the reality that taking healthcare out to Inclusion Health patients improves access and engagement. Developing Homeless Practice Nursing through the pandemic has made her confident in 'what works' service delivery alongside a supportive and creative team. Now restrictions are lifting, her drive to revolutionise access to Spirometry is very real and she hopes to develop an innovative and sustainable style of service delivery moving forwards.
