Ishani is a consultant in Public Health in the Extreme Events and Health Protection Team in Public Health England (PHE) which focuses on minimising harm to health from adverse weather and climate change.
She is particularly interested on the intersection of climate risk, resilience and existing inequalities as a drivers of vulnerability.
Previously, Ishani was consultant in health protection in PHE South East and London teams, with strategic focus on tuberculosis, blood borne viruses and non-infectious environmental hazards.
Outside of her role in PHE, Ishani writes fiction and has a practice in creative non-fiction.
