Dr Alison Boland is a Respiratory Physician with a specialist interest in Interstitial Lung Disease and Palliative Medicine at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. She studied medicine at Leeds University and undertook her specialist training in West Yorkshire. During her specialist training she completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Palliative Medicine at Cardiff University and established the Integrated Leeds Respiratory Palliative MDT (published in respiratory futures). This has been successful in developing a close partnership between hospital, hospice and community providing holistic patient centred care for respiratory patients in Leeds. She keen to improve research within respiratory palliative care and has undertaken studies in collaboration with the University of Leeds and currently is local PI exploring the use of morphine for breathlessness with the University of Hull. Her ultimate goal is to improve palliative care for respiratory patients with non-malignant disease.
