Our team at Queen Mary University London are hosting the annual conference which showcases the latest research and education in academic primary care, and provides an opportunity to share relevant methodological developments.
The Conference programme will be dedicated to providing opportunities to share your work through oral presentations, posters, symposia and workshops. By popular demand we will also continue some of the new features from the 2017 programme (e.g. the doctoral masterclass). For our 2018 programme the Scientific Committee is particularly interested to receive abstracts outlining research, education and policy relating to our two conference themes: Learning from Europe and Populations on the Move. We are keen to showcase the academic work of our international primary care colleagues in Europe and beyond. We also plan to include a special emphasis on the challenges faced by populations on the move: migration, displacement, homelessness, delivering cross-cultural primary care, for example. Preference will be given to papers which highlight primary care as expert generalism and which embrace the complexity of delivering person-centred care. We welcome contributions which focus on the methodological challenges this presents. As in previous years we will also consider abstract submissions which stretch the full breadth of primary care. We have organised a social programme which will provide a chance to network with colleagues and make new friends. This will begin on Tuesday 10th July at the drinks reception which will be held in The Great Hall at Barts – a great opportunity to see this wonderful building. It will continue on Wednesday 11th July with the conference dinner at The Tower Hotel in its magnificent location next to Tower Bridge and The Tower of London. The venue for the main conference on Weds 11th and Thurs 12th July is the Barbican Centre in the heart of the City of London.
Our team will also provide some extra activities such as a mindfulness session, a run and walking tours.
We hope that you will come and join us in July 2018 to enjoy the conference
