9th IPCRG Scientific Meeting
The International Primary Care Respiratory Group (IPCRG) is a clinically-led charitable organisation. Their scope is research and education to improve prevention, diagnosis and care of respiratory diseases in global community and primary care settings. IPCRG runs a World Conference every two years, and a Scientific Meeting in the alternate years. We are delighted to announce the 2027 Scientific Meeting will be held in Oxford, UK.
This is the 9th IPCRG Scientific Meeting and is being hosted and organised by PCRS, together with the IPCRG. We are grateful to our sponsors and exhibitors who have contributed funding towards the event in return for exhibition space, and/or other marketing opportunities. Neither sponsors nor exhibitors have had any input into the conference programme. View the full list of sponsors and exhibitors.

Welcome to the 9th IPCRG Scientific Meeting
The International Primary Care Respiratory Group (IPCRG) is delighted to invite you to support our 9th Scientific Meeting in Oxford, United Kingdom on Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th April 2027, hosted by our UK group PCRS in partnership with CARRii.
The IPCRG promises a high quality and engaging scientific programme focused on new developments relevant to primary health care. It will give the opportunity for clinicians interested in research, primary care leaders and innovators, senior researchers and early career researchers to exchange knowledge and ideas. It provides industry colleagues with the chance to present their own research and showcase the products relevant to our audience. Equally, it is a valuable opportunity to expand your networks and gain insights into the different ways lung health can be achieved.
In addition, we will hold a Research School dedicated to academic writing, with a particular focus on preparing and reviewing manuscripts for publication, led by the Editor-in-Chief of our journal, npj Primary Care Respiratory Medicine, whose rising impact factor reflects the increasing quality and value of research conducted in primary care. The Research School aims to strengthen participants’ writing and reviewing skills, improve their understanding of what makes a high-quality journal article, and ultimately build capacity in primary care respiratory research.
The 9th IPCRG Scientific Meeting is being organised in conjunction with the PCRS – Primary Care Respiratory Society, our UK group led by Tricia Bryant along with Helen Asdown, the PCRS Research Lead who is the meeting abstract committee chair, in partnership with the Centre for Applied Respiratory Research, Innovation and Impact (CARRii). We are very grateful for their support in coordinating this meeting.
We hope to see you in Oxford - a beautiful and accessible city, steeped in academic tradition and the perfect setting for our meeting.Take up the challenge and share your ideas, research or findings with us!
Kind regards,
Dr Cláudia Vicente, IPCRG President

Welcome from Meeting Host, Dr Helen Ashdown
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the International Primary Care Respiratory Group's Scientific Meeting, to be held at the beautiful Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford, in April 2027.
This meeting has been designed to bring together researchers, clinicians, academics and emerging investigators from across the world who share a commitment to advancing respiratory health through high-quality primary care research. At a time when international collaboration has never been more important, we hope this gathering will provide a stimulating environment in which new ideas can be exchanged, partnerships forged, and future research shaped.
Our programme places academic learning at its very heart, combining cutting-edge scientific discussion with practical opportunities to network and collaborate with colleagues from across Europe and beyond. Whether you are an established researcher or at the beginning of your academic journey, we aim to create a welcoming forum in which innovation, mentorship and interdisciplinary working can flourish.
We are especially delighted to host the meeting at Lady Margaret Hall, one of Oxford University's most historic colleges. Since its foundation in 1878, the college has nurtured generations of scholars who have gone on to make significant contributions to society and science. Its connections extend to distinguished figures including epidemiologist Professor Neil Ferguson, whose work has influenced global public health policy, and pathologist Dr Jean Orr-Ewing, a member of the pioneering Oxford penicillin team that helped transform modern medicine.
Against this inspiring backdrop, we invite you to join us for what promises to be an exceptional meeting: an opportunity not only to share best practice and your research, but also to build the international relationships and collaborations that will drive the next generation of primary care respiratory research.
Helen Ashdown, PCRS Research Lead
