Our Policy Partners
To ensure as broad an influence as possible PCRS partners and aligns with the policy work of other UK organisations.
- British Thoracic Society: We support and input to BTS guidelines and working groups by identifying representation from our broad PCRS membership so that the breadth of the patient pathway through the experience of the primary and community health care professional is included.
- Asthma UK: We help the patient voice to be heard by our health professional audience through support of AUK policy campaigns in areas such as ‘Severe asthma” and “Free prescriptions for all with asthma”.
- British Lung Foundation: We are members of the BLF coordinated Lung Health Taskforce with key roles in the Taskforce working groups.
- Royal College of General Practitioners: We provide expert generalist respiratory viewpoint and seek common ground to deliver a better respiratory experience for general practice.
- UK Inhaler Group: Members of our policy forum input the PCRS view and support the work of UKIG whether in relation to getting better inhaler technique training or ensuring rational and sensible approaches to environmentally friendly treatment options.
- Action on Smoking and Health: We are a member of the ASH coordinated Smokefree Action Coalition in the UK that amplifies the voice for better legislation in tobacco control. We support ASH by providing the primary and community respiratory perspective on the issues around treating tobacco dependence.
