Katie Johnston
Katie is a primary care pharmacist based in Scotland. She began her career doing her pre-registration training in the pharmaceutical industry before gaining experience in both secondary care and community pharmacy. Currently, Katie is the Respiratory Lead for the primary care pharmacy team in NHS Lothian working closely with colleagues across all sectors of the healthcare system.
In addition to her leadership role Katie spends one day a week in a GP practice, where she runs a respiratory clinic focusing on asthma and COPD patients. Katie is an active member of various NHS Lothian committees and sits on several Scottish Government advisor groups. She is passionate about improving respiratory care through education – encouraging clinicians, managers and patients alike to embrace change and see patient outcomes improve.
