Wisia Wedzicha

Professor Wisia Wedzicha is Professor of Respiratory Medicine, Head of the Respiratory Division at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London, and Honorary Consultant at Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals. A graduate of Oxford University and St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College, she is a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences, the American Thoracic Society and the European Respiratory Society. Her research focuses on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), particularly exacerbations, the role of infection and early development of COPD. She leads major COPD research programmes and has held senior editorial and leadership roles across leading scientific organisations.
