photo of James ChalmersProfessor James Chalmers is the Rhodes Chair of Experimental Therapeutics at the University of Oxford and a Respiratory Physician. His clinical and research interests are in difficult airways diseases, including bronchiectasis, COPD and asthma. He has published more than 550 peer reviewed papers and is Chief editor of the European Respiratory Journal. He is chair of the European Bronchiectasis Registry and has chaired the 2017 and 2025 ERS bronchiectasis guidelines as well as several other major international guidelines.
