Rachael Evans

photo of Rachael EvansRachael Evans is a Professor of Respiratory Medicine at the University of Leicester and Honorary Consultant Respiratory Physician at Glenfield Hospital. She was awarded a NIHR clinician scientist fellowship (2017-2022) to investigate clinical pathways to lead to earlier diagnosis and treatments for people presenting to primary care with chronic breathlessness. Clinically, Rachael leads a local integrated diagnostic breathlessness service since 2015, a large Long Covid service, and delivers an advanced COPD service; all involve multi-professional working and close integration with rehabilitation. Internationally, she is the European Respiratory Society Group 01.02 Pulmonary Rehabilitation Chair and the immediate past Chair of the American Thoracic Society Pulmonary Rehabilitation Assembly. She is the chief investigator and co-investigator for several nationally funded grants (>£25M).
