Aleksandra (Ola) Howell
Ola Howell is a pharmacist, advanced clinical practitioner and clinical leader with over 15 years of experience across community pharmacy, primary, secondary, and tertiary care, as well as health innovation. She is skilled in developing and implementing new pathways and services and has a strong focus on quality improvement and research. Ola regularly collaborates with commissioners and has co-authored several guidelines and pathways. Her previous team's work on improving the identification of severe asthma in primary care was recognised as a finalist at the 2023 HSJ Awards.
Currently, Ola is an NIHR Doctoral Fellow at the University of Oxford, where she is researching the use of COPD ‘rescue packs’ in primary care in England. She is also a guest lecturer at the University of Bath and a mentor to pharmacists, supporting career progression and building confidence.
In addition to her role on the PCRS Policy Forum, Ola is a member of the British Thoracic Society COPD Specialist Advisory Group and the Health Innovation Network Respiratory Working Group, contributing to national initiatives in respiratory care.
