C-reactive protein (CRP) Point of Care Testing

This pragmatic guide developed by a multi-disciplinary team of PCRS members including Professor Jonathan Cooke,Dr Maisun Elftise, Val Gerrard, Vikki Knowles, Deborah Leese, Dr Fiona Mosgrove, Amanda Roberts and Dr Mukesh Singh  who explore the use of C-reactive protein (CRP) testing in primary and community care.  The document examines the evidence for its use and explores some of the barriers to use.  The guide provides two helpful algorithms which aim to support antibiotic stewardship and avoid unnecessary antibiotic prescribing through the use of CRP testing.
