Deborah Leese

photo of Deborah LeeseDeborah qualified as a pharmacist in 2000 with a first-class degree. She has had a varied career starting in community pharmacy, moving on to regional and national training roles and then into primary care in 2009 as a clinical pharmacist for NHS Sheffield.
In 2016 Deborah qualified as a pharmacist independent prescriber and was appointed respiratory lead pharmacist for Sheffield CCG and now for South Yorkshire ICB (Sheffield) Deborah has led on many pieces of respiratory work including guideline and formulary development. She has also developed many initiatives for inhaler optimisation for the city as well as educational sessions. Deborah is also currently Co-Clinical Lead for Children and Young Peoples Asthma for South Yorkshire, Clinical Lead for SABA reduction in South Yorkshire, Chair of the South Yorkshire Sustainable Respiratory Group and a committee member for the South Yorkshire Respiratory Interest Group.
Deborah is Vice Chair of the PCRS Service Development Committee, a member of the Policy Forum and is a core member of the Asthma Right Care team. She has contributed to various PCRS documents including Asthma Guidelines in Practice – A PCRS consensus. She has a passion for respiratory care and is focussed at putting the patient at the centre of care.
