Claire Yerramasu

photo of Claire YerramasuClaire is an Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapist and Independent Prescriber with 27 years’ experience in physiotherapy, specialising in respiratory care across community and acute settings. She has led the development of innovative respiratory services, including establishing a Pulmonary Rehabilitation service in North London and the Midlothian Community Respiratory Team in Edinburgh, which she currently manages.

Her professional interests include the expansion of community respiratory teams across Scotland, developing the advanced physiotherapy practitioner role in respiratory care, and using AI-driven risk stratification, data and digital solutions to enable personalised, proactive respiratory care.

She is currently undertaking a part-time PhD funded by the Scottish Government Chief Scientist Office, which focuses on developing a digital, data management system for people with COPD, utilising routine population level data, risk stratification and supports the integration of NHS care with third sector services.

In recognition of her contribution to services, Claire was awarded 'AHP of the Year' at the recent 'Scottish Health Awards' in 2025. She has spoken at local, national, and international conferences.

Outside of work, she enjoys family time, staying active, travelling, and socialising with friends.
