Bengisu Bassoy

Dr Bengisu Bassoy is a Consultant Paediatrician and Lead Clinician for Paediatric Asthma at Darent Valley Hospital. She has a specialist interest in childhood asthma and respiratory disease, with a particular focus on improving asthma diagnosis, management and transition from paediatric to adult care. She has developed and expanded the paediatric asthma service locally, with a focus on delivering high-quality, evidence-based care and improving access to specialist assessment and management.

Bengisu is actively involved in research, quality improvement and medical education, with a particular interest in translating evidence and national guidance into practical clinical care. She recently completed an MSc in Paediatric Allergy at Imperial College London and is involved in national and international respiratory research and educational activities.
