PCRS in Conversation - Health Inequalities
At the Primary Care Respiratory Society (PCRS), we believe in 'optimal'; respiratory health for all. Our aim is that, together, we can benefit every person with, or at risk of, lung disease.
Our first webinar in this series was held on Wednesday 31st January 2024. Chaired by Dr Katherine Hickman (our PCRS Executive Chair), the focus was on the topic of Health Inequalities with guest speaker Ren Lawlor. The session explored how you, as an individual clinician, can actively support and advocate for your patients in addressing health inequalities, even when the challenges may seem daunting and beyond your immediate influence.

Katherine Hickman
Katherine qualified from Leeds University in 2000. She originally did a Medicine Rotation acquiring her MRCP before settling into General Practice. She is a GP Partner in Bradford. Katherine is the Respiratory Lead for West Yorkshire ICB, Primary Care Clinical Lead for the National Respiratory Audit Programme (NRAP), and Chair of PCRS. Outside of work she enjoys cooking, baking, yoga, and outdoor swimming and has recently rediscovered her love for singing and joined a choir. -
Catherine Jane Lawlor
Ren Lawlor is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and independent prescriber in South London. She is the clinical educator and academic tutor lead for the South East London Training Hub and a visiting lecturer for various universities including University of Greenwich and De Montfort University. Ren is the vice chair for the PCRS executive committee and is chair of the PCRS education committee and co-clinical lead for PCRA.
