This video provides you not only with the evidence but includes tips on what you can do to support patients experiencing these issues and includes links to template letters that you can use to help arm your patients with the evidence they need to seek support.

People experiencing homelessness

This video resource covers how homelessness affects health outcomes and mortality, and respiratory health. The resource also details what we in primary care can do about homelessness including reducing the barriers to engaging with services, and using clear and empathetic communication.

Health Inequalities and Respiratory Disease

In 2016, the British Lung Foundation (now Asthma + Lung UK) published The Battle for Breath – the report of a three-year epidemiological study into lung disease 2. In the foreword by Sir Michael Marmot he explained that the “most deprived section of society is two-and-a-half times more likely to have COPD and nearly twice as likely to develop lung cancer as someone from the least deprived section of society”.
