Samantha Maddox

photo of Samantha MaddoxSam qualified as a nurse from Anglia Ruskin University in 2011 after initially completing a diploma in nursing she went on to achieve a level 6 qualification in Non-Medical Prescribing and a level 7 qualification in clinical skills assessment. She quickly gained a keen interest in Respiratory care and is currently working at a Masters qualification.
Her career progression into practice nursing and respiratory care has been rapid. Within 6 months of qualifying she took up post as practice nurse where she has gained a vast knowledge in chronic disease management. At a few years qualified, Sam completed the ARTP Spirometry Full Certificate, performing and interpreting. At this stage of her career, Sam was practice respiratory lead and was keen to share knowledge within her Practice and on a wider scale. In 2017, Sam joined PCRS and attended Clinical Respiratory Leaders and has continued on to complete the programme.
Now a PCRS Clinical Leadership facilitator and board member, Sam has continued to advocate change and high standards of care for all. After attending her first PCRS Clinical Leadership workshop, Sam was inspired to set up an affiliated group for her local area. Breathe Easier North East Essex Respiratory (BE-NEER) facilitates networking and education sessions often being oversubscribed.
In 2018, Sam was appointed Respiratory Lead nurse for a small cluster of GP practices which has since had a change of ownership and here she continues to encourage change for best Practice. Improving and optimising respiratory care outcomes for all patients are core values that she shares with the PCRS.
