The Society is run by our board of trustees who are appointed by the membership and work closely with the Executive and chief executive.
The Executive, comprised of 12 elected members and up to four co-opted members, formulates recommendations on the aims, strategies and activities of the charity for approval by the Trustees and is responsible for developing and co-ordinating the activities of the charity. The Executive is supported by two principle sub committees for education and service development plus a conference organising committee and an editorial board for the Primary Care Respiratory Update (PCRU) publication. In addition, we have working groups responsible for organising the Clinical respiratory leadership programme, affiliated groups and research programmes. All formal members of PCRS are eligible to apply to join a committee or working group.
In addition the Society has a lay reference group responsible for providing independent advice and feedback to the Executive and trustees on how well the Society is performing in relation to the interests of patients’ and providing public benefit.
Key governance documents can be accessed in the section on company papers.
