RightCare Quick wins for respiratory disease

RightCare has issued a call for CCGs to submit proposals for Quick wins. Respiratory disease presents many challenges to the NHS as it’s an area of high spend, morbidity and mortality.  We are currently discussing and sharing at the Respiratory Commissioning Platform, across England what can be done to improve outcomes and reduce expenditure. Delegates on the Respiratory Commissioning Platform have told us that they expect many CCGs will be keen to pursue Quick wins in respiratory disease. 

The Primary Care Respiratory Society UK has put together four outline proposals for improving respiratory disease outcomes, for CCGs wanting to improve aspects of respiratory care.  All four ideas for respiratory improvement recommended here meet the criteria that RightCare has set – one of the most challenging of which is to deliver in-year savings as well as delivering improved outcomes.
