Lay Reference Group

The lay patient and carer reference group is an advisory group responsible for providing independent advice and feedback to Executive and trustees on how well the Society is performing in relation to the following objectives
•    Embed a patient-centred approach within corporate consciousness’ of PCRS and all its activities
•    Provide a check / balance to ensure PCRS is acting ultimately in patients’ best interests and providing public benefit

The group comprises seven patients with conditions from across the respiratory disease spectrum. PCRS will receive feedback from the group at an annual meeting held during the PCRS annual conference where they will be given an opportunity to comment on our current and future plans. The group will also provide feedback on areas that are going well or need improvement.

Members will be invited on a rotating basis to attend each Executive meeting and will contribute to the planning of PCRS annual conference. A twice yearly report from the group will be provided to the Executive and Trustees.

Information and updates from the lay reference group will feature regularly in Primary Care Respiratory Update
